Hinglish to Hindi Not Converting? 12 Fixes That Work

Text not converting, or converting to something you didn't expect? Work through this list in order — most issues fall into one of these twelve buckets.

Nothing is converting at all

Auto convert is switched off. Check the "Auto convert" checkbox above the text box — if it's unticked, nothing converts until you press "Convert all."
You haven't hit a trigger yet. Word mode needs a space after the word; Sentence mode needs punctuation (. ? ! ।) plus space or enter; Paragraph mode needs a full blank line.
Your text has no English letters. If a chunk has no Latin characters at all, the tool leaves it untouched by design — there's nothing to transliterate.
JavaScript is disabled or blocked. The converter runs entirely in the browser and needs JavaScript enabled to work.
A network request failed. Check your connection — if a single request fails, that specific chunk stays unconverted, but everything else keeps working.

Something converts, but not correctly

Vowel length mismatch. Try doubling a short vowel (a → aa, i → ii, u → oo) — this fixes the majority of "wrong word" results.
Missing aspirated "h." Check kh/gh/chh/jh/th/dh — dropping the h changes the consonant entirely.
Not enough context (Word mode). Switch to Sentence mode so the tool can see the full thought, not just one word in isolation.
It's a name. Names have multiple valid Hindi spellings — try a small variation rather than assuming there's one "correct" answer.
A URL or email got skipped (correctly). The tool deliberately leaves anything that looks like a link or email address untouched, so it doesn't break it — this is expected behavior, not a bug.

Long text specifically isn't working

You've hit the per-request character limit. Very long single chunks get rejected — break the text into smaller sections (a paragraph at a time works well) and convert each separately.
Pasted text with unusual formatting. Odd invisible characters or non-standard spacing from some source documents can occasionally interfere — try pasting into a plain text editor first, then into the converter.
